Bankers face industrial action

ELLINBANK AND DISTRICT NETBALL ASSOCIATION
ROUND 5 PREVIEW
THE Warragul Industrials’ home clash with Ellinbank highlights Round 5 action of the EDNA this week.
The fourth-placed Dusties will be desperate to atone for their disappointing loss to Bunyip, while Ellinbank – currently sitting in third – looks to maintain its unbeaten start to the year.
The Bankers boast the A Grade division’s most miserly defence having conceded just 88 goals so far, so Warragul’s shooters will need to bring their A-games to Western Park on Saturday.
Ellinbank’s own shooters, though, should have too much firepower.
Catani will travel to Neerim South for another battle between top six sides and both will be buoyed by big wins in Round 4.
The Blues’ defence has leaked 30 extra goals to this stage of the season and they’ll need to find a way of curtailing the influence of Hayley Stringer and Tessa Fusinato this time around. Georgi Williams is also in exceptional form at the other end of the court, but the Cats should prove too hard to handle at home.
Poowong will host Nar Nar Goon in a battle of last season’s premiers but the two sides seem on very different trajectories.
The Pies simply aren’t the team they were least year and have struggled in the early going so far this season while the Goon will come out breathing fire after their loss to Kooweerup. They’ll be looking to pick their momentum straight back up and should win this one comfortably.
Buln Buln and Lang Lang are both looking to stay within reach of the league’s top sides and their clash will also be one to watch this round.
In the remaining games this Saturday, Cora Lynn hosts Longwarry, Garfield will head to Denhams Road to take on the all-conquering Demons, and Nilma Darnum hosts Nyora.
