ARE you the sort of golfer or corporate type who loves bragging rights and trying to get one up over your contemporaries?
If so, the Pakenham Golf Club will be the place to be on Friday 29 May when the club hosts its inaugural Corporate Golf Challenge.
A major fund raiser for the Pakenham Golf Club, the event’s aim is to raise funds to allow at least one major project to be undertaken each year.
General manger of the club, Jason McQualter, said the support of local business was more important now than ever.
“All sporting clubs need that support and we’re excited to be bringing our members, corporate sponsors and other businesses together for our major fundraiser of the year,” McQualter said.
“Events like this will allow us to keep improving our golf course, and this year we have earmarked the redevelopment of the 11th hole.
“The 17th was redeveloped two years ago and it’s now in the best condition of any hole on the course.”
McQualter said the club has a considerable trophy up for grabs that local businesses will be playing for.
“A lot of businesses around the region know each other pretty well, and we think this is the ideal opportunity to network, but also to try and get bragging rights for the next 12 months,” he said.
The $350 cost is for a team of three and is all inclusive, covering entry into all events, 18 holes of golf, a pre-golf lunch-pack, and dinner and sportsman night. Non-golfing guests are most welcome, with a $50 entry including a two-course meal and entertainment.
