SIX-year-old pooch Kameo is learning what it’s like to be an older sibling.
Normally she has had her owner Belinda Cohen all to her herself – but that all change with the birth of the Pakenham mum’s firstborn Cohen six months ago.
“She is adjusting reasonably well although she does not show a huge amount of interest in him as yet.
“She sure lets us know when he needs attention and she seems to realise that she need to protect him,” Belinda said.
The new mum said Kameo has always been a snuggler which came in handy during her pregnancy.
“She loves lots of cuddles on the couch after a hard day at work… she was especially good at this when I was pregnant,” Belinda said.
“Life would be boring (without her) and the bed would be colder on winter mornings.”
Kameo has a real sense of playfulness about her which has got her into trouble at least once.
“When she was a puppy, we took her away camping and she decided to join her dad in a fishing adventure,” Belinda said.
“Next thing I know she comes running back to the tent freaking out as she has managed to get a fishing hook through her nose, she had tried to catch the bait as her dad was casting off.”
