VETERAN Cranbourne trainer Ray Besanko created history on Tuesday 26 May, when his three-year-old chestnut gelding Well Kept won the first race on Pakenham Racing Club’s new synthetic track at Racing.com Park in Tynong.
Ridden by Gavin Bedggood, the son of Henny Hughes had more than a length up his sleeve on the line, scoring at the luxurious odds of $18.
The Robbie Griffiths-trained Komuso was second, denying that trainer the honour of saddling up the first winners on both the turf and synthetic tracks at the new venue, opened in March. Faction won the first race on the grass track.
The Pakenham Racing Club’s next two meetings on the Polytrack at Tynong are scheduled for Thursday 4 June and Tuesday 9 June.
