Cyclist hit by car

The 15-year-old boy was hospitalised after the crash.

A TEENAGE cyclist was hospitalised last week after he was hit by an oncoming car in Pakenham.
The 15-year-old Cranbourne boy was riding his bike along the footpath on Main Street at 11.35am on Tuesday 19 May when a driver exiting a bakery car park struck him.
Senior Sergeant Graeme Stanley said the cyclist collided with the front left side of the vehicle which caused minor back injuries.
He was transferred to the Royal Children’s Hospital for treatment and released later that day.
Sen Sgt Stanley said the incident was a reminder for all road users to remain cautious at all times.
“The indications are that no-one was at fault but there is a need for cyclists and motorists to take more care when views may be skewed by fences or foliage,” he said.
