THE senses will come alive at the annual Yakkerboo Art Show this weekend.
The weekend event will open this Friday night at the Pakenham Hall.
Yakkerboo Art Show president Jillian Ronald said the show will offer something for everyone.
“Life is better with art,” she said.
“Art in your home is an expression of you, your statement.
“It’s a good idea to come and see what it is about, to keep a look out for a piece that speaks to you.
“Once you find a piece you love, it will make your home and heart sing!”
However the show will offer more than just art for sale – there will be a strong line-up of displays and events throughout the weekend.
On Saturday 30 May, the Paint, Paper, Play workshop will aim to blow the lid on all the secrets that ascertain the quality, usage and benefits of popular mediums of art.
At noon Cally Van Der Schyff will talk about her fashion illustrations, demonstrating the techniques she uses to create her works.
Following this, visitors to the show will have the opportunity to witness the romantic and patient art of beading with Ruth Davies.
Some of Ruth’s beading pieces have taken more than 100 hours to create.
Sunday at the show will see a demonstration from Manga artist Kenny Chan whose talents lie in depicting the world through his very unique art.
Devonshire tea and sandwiches will be available for purchase over the weekend and paper tablecloths will allow guests to try their hand at some art of their own.
Ms Ronald said the show will feature 450 art works from local and surrounding areas.
“Come down to the Pakenham Hall this weekend to have a look at the many different styles of art on exhibition and for sale,” she said.
“There will be beautiful tranquil landscapes, sculptures, portraits, contemporary work, wearable art and much more in all mediums and genres.
“We will demonstrate how diverse art can be.”
