THE beautiful Four Figs Cafe in Beaconsfield is a family affair – and a successful one at that.
The cafe is a finalist in the 2015 Restaurant and Catering Industry Awards for Excellence in the Best Cafe and Best Breakfast Cafe for Regional Victoria division.
Operating for the past five years, the cafe focuses on fresh local produce prepared with care, great coffee, professional qualified staff, all in a relaxed environment.
Chef and owner Norm Sutherland has had more than 30 years in the industry and now his family is following suit.
“Our head barista, also my son Jarrod, has placed top three in the Barista championships two years running,” he said.
“My daughter Sam and daughter-in-law Lisa are also baristas and work the front of house. My other chef Ash started here at 16 and is now a qualified chef while most of our front-of-house staff have been here since we opened.”
So what makes Four Figs Licensed Cafe so special.
“Our community spirit,” Norm says without hesitation.
“We try to source all of our produce within 100km of our cafe – from farm gate to plate and over course you can’t go past our great staff.
“We have chefs, apprentice chefs, and qualified baristas and front-of -house staff that are here as professionals that love this industry.”
