Missing man found

A 70-YEAR-OLD man with medical issues was found wandering the streets after disappearing from his Pakenham home in the late evening last week.
The elderly Eagles Drive resident, who suffers from dementia and mobility issues, was reported as missing to police at 11.40pm on Thursday 11 June.
Concerned carers told police the man could have gone missing any time between 8.40pm and 11.40pm during the cold winter night, sparking an extensive search involving a police helicopter and dog squad.
“The temperature raised a large concern for us, along with his health issues,” said Senior Sergeant Nathan Prowd from Pakenham police.
The man was located walking the streets close to his Pakenham home soon after the search commenced.
He was admitted to Casey Hospital but was deemed safe and well.
Snr Sgt Prowd asked residents to report a suspected missing person to police as soon as possible.
“Call us early. We much prefer to get looking earlier,” he said.
