Road safety goes with the flow

Streetworks contractor Steve Williams, VicRoads Delivery Manager Raymond Paterson, Eastern Victoria MP Daniel Mulino , VicRoads South Eastern Projects Director Charlie Broadhurst and VicRoads engineer Devduni Unantenne.

ROAD works to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow in Officer were officially completed last week.
The $2.7 million upgrade of Cardinia Road includes a new 500 meter four lane section of road between the Princes Highway and the Pakenham railway line.
Eastern Victoria MP Daniel Mulino inspected the new project on Friday 12 June.
It includes a new intersection with traffic signals at Shearwater Drive and Area Parade, a new bus bay and shared user path for cyclists and pedestrians.
He said the path and signalised crossing will improve pedestrian safety by providing a safe option for pedestrians to cross the road.
“We’re getting on with building the infrastructure that growing communities need, while also improving safety and reducing congestions for locals,” Mr Mulino said.
With new homes being built in the area, the upgrade will cater for the growing community to provide better road safety infrastructure and reduced levels of congestions.
“Labor wants the local community to travel safely and spend less time stuck in traffic and more time at home with their families,” Mr Mulino said.
