THE AFL Footy Show renovated the outdoor area of Mick and Ann Olsen’s home.
Mick Olsen has been a supporter of the Drouin Hawks Football Club since 1973.
Senior club president Eric Bott said it was wonderful for Mick and Ann to be honoured in this way.
“His family’s always been there, even through some tough times with his stroke last year,” Eric said.
“We’re very lucky to have him.”
Based on their long-term commitment to the footy club and the hard times that they’ve gone through recently, a group of people at the Drouin Hawks got together and nominated Mick and Ann to have some renovations from the AFL Footy Show.
The supporters turned out in team colours to support Mick and Ann at their newly renovated outdoor area with Garry Lyon, the host of AFL Footy Show, unveiling the renovated area.
Eric said that it would be lovely if every person who gave as much as Mick and Ann did could be honoured in a similar way.
“Ann wouldn’t admit it, but they really do deserve it,” he said.
“They are very humble to receive this because they think of how many other people are worthy of something similar.”
