Bad drivers busted

TWO drivers have had their cars impounded in Pakenham.
In the first incident a former Pakenham resident and repeat dangerous driver was left regretting his visit back to town to visit friends.
His trip to Pakenham on Saturday 29 August left him carless after his wheels were confiscated because of his bad behaviour.
About 6pm, the 21-year-old man, who was known to police, was caught out by Cardinia Highway Patrol (CHP) officers driving on a suspended licence along the Princes Highway.
The recidivist dangerous driver had his car impounded.
The next day, police also took swift action against a daredevil driver in Pakenham.
Highway police were carrying out routine speed checks along the Princes Highway near Atkins Road when a male driver did a burn out in front of them.
The 27-year-old Pakenham man’s car was seized and impounded by police.
Acting Sergeant Andrew Jones said it costs approximately $1000 to retrieve an impounded car.
“Often the value of the car is more than the car itself so these people aren’t getting their car back,” he said.
Police urge road users to report bad behaviour on the roads to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
