Teens on rampage after violent brawl

Police suspect those responsible for the property damage in Henry Lawson Drive, Pakenham, attended the party shut down less than an hour earlier in Cassowary Avenue.

A TEEN party in Pakenham quickly developed into a violent brawl over the weekend, with the police and the dog squad called out.
Police, who shut down the out-of-control house party, believe a number of the dejected attendees went on the rampage and are responsible for property damage nearby, less than an hour later.
About 11pm on Saturday 14 November, police were called out to a youth house party at a home in Cassowary Avenue, Pakenham.
Pakenham police Senior Sergeant Graeme Stanley could not provide details about the alleged brawl which drew four police units and the dog squad but said the party was shut down before midnight.
Less than an hour later, police received multiple reports of property damage in surrounding Pakenham streets.
Sen Sgt Stanley said between 12.15am and 12.45am on Sunday 15 November, youths were witnessed kicking cars parked on Henry Lawson Drive in Pakenham.
He said at least one car had a window smashed in the riotous spree less that ensued.
Witnesses told police about 25 African youths were observed loitering in Henry Lawson Drive before 1am.
Police searched the area for the suspected offenders but failed to locate anyone.
An ambulance attended the Cassowary Avenue brawl though police could not confirm what type of injuries were sustained.
