Outlook for a fond farewell

AFTER a career spent helping the community’s most vulnerable, Julie Walton is retiring from her role at a disadvantage support centre in Pakenham.
Ms Walton, who spent the past 15 years working at Outlook in Pakenham, was given warm wishes at her farewell event on Friday 5 February.
She leaves her role as the centre’s Community Services Manager, specialising in the personal development and support of disabled people in the Cardinia and Casey region.
In parting, it was said that Julie’s greatest contributions including her belief in everyone playing a part in the community which was shown by her strong advocacy to encourage independence and self-determination in those she helped.
Outlook CEO Tony Fitzgerald said Ms Walton has left a lasting impact on all those she has helped during her career.
“Julie is one of the finest people I have ever met,” he said.
“Her commitment to our participants, families and staff has at all times been exemplary.
“Julie has an incredible passion for social justice and when she felt something was not right she has been fearless in her advocacy for the rights of the people she serves.”
Her farewell event was attended by colleagues and Bass MP Brian Paynter.
