Carpark shakedown

By LACHLAN MOORHEAD

A VICTIM has been left shaken after two men confronted him in the carpark of a Pakenham hotel and stole his car.
And the same car was involved in an alleged crash on the Princes Highway less than 24 hours later.
The victim was confronted by two men, described as Pacific Islander in appearance, in the carpark of Costello’s Cardinia Hotel on the Princes Highway about 4.30am on Saturday 5 March.
There was an altercation with the victim before the two men stole his green 1996 Holden Commodore.
No weapon was used and the victim, who was unknown to the men, sustained minor grazing to his knees and elbows.
It’s believed about 11.25pm on the same day the allegedly stolen car crashed into a pole on the Princes Highway near the McGregor Road intersection, and two men, both under 18, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
