Drug charges laid, stash of cash uncovered

POLICE nabbed an alleged drug trafficker in Pakenham in possession of a large amount of cash thought to have been earned through crime.
The 21-year-old Pakenham man fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court charged with a number of drug and weapon charges less than 24 hours after he was identified by police.
Pakenham uniform members executed a warrant at a Chestnut Chase home late in the afternoon on Friday 29 April.
Investigators allegedly uncovered half a kilogram of cannabis and a large amount of cash during their swoop on the Pakenham man.
Police also uncovered a number of weapons believed to be knives.
The man was charged with possession and trafficking a drug of dependence, possession of a controlled weapon and possession of proceeds of crime.
He was remanded overnight for a Saturday 30 April appearance at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court.
