ST FRANICS Xavier College celebrated the opening of new facilities including a kitchen at its Officer campus this week.
A learning resource centre and food technology space would provide students the opportunity to take up cooking classes.
Head of Officer campus Rebecca Cetrola said both staff and students were excited to use the modern new facilities.
“We are excited to be offering our students the opportunity to utilise contempory learning spaces that enable students to explore, create and collaborate,” Ms Cetrola said.
“This new building provides an open, flexible and adaptable learning space that is designed to be a multi-disciplinary and communal space.
“The upper level allows for collaborative learning, individual learning, small group work and provides student access to AV and IT support services.
The lower level houses a new state-of-the-art food technology centre, complete with a student canteen.”
Campus captain Cloe Jones said the colourful and open design would make students feel comfortable in their learning environment.
“I am very excited for the opening of this state-of-the-art facility, and I’m sure this will be a great asset for the college for many years,” campus captain Benjamin Shields said.
“The library and working areas provide a relaxed environment, which will give the students every opportunity to achieve their best work. I am also looking forward to cooking in the fully equipped food technology rooms which provide us students with the chance to learn a new skill.”
