A PAKENHAM man has reunited a local resident with his lost false teeth, after claiming on social media that it was his “destiny” to return them to their rightful owner.
Mathew Standfield found the dentures on the ground along Henry Street on Thursday morning while walking to Pakenham train station.
“I will protect them!” the 25-year-old posted to a local Facebook group, keen to track down the owner who lost their teeth on Wednesday night.
“I just wanted to help out the community the best I could, so there was no second guessing picking them up. I just popped them straight into my backpack.”
By Friday afternoon, Mr Standfield had reunited the false teeth with the owner.
“I got one bloke contact me who lost his teeth and we met up. They were definitely his and he was glad to have them back,” Mr Standfield said.
“He said he’d spent three hours the morning after a 50th birthday party looking for them. He was very happy and thanked me.”
