A SERVO worker was robbed at knifepoint when he was made to withdraw cash from his own personal account as well as hand over till funds in a terrifying early morning hold-up under police investigation.
At this stage of the investigation, it is believed that the armed robber travelled to and from the Pakenham service station on foot, and was let in by the male worker secured behind locked doors during the overnight shift.
Police said about 4.30am on Monday 27 June, the robber was let into Coles Express on Princes Highway, Pakenham, opposite Cardinia Life, by the victim behind the cash register.
Once inside, the man produced a knife and demanded cash from the till.
He then forced the victim to withdraw funds from his own bank account from an ATM inside the petrol station.
The incident is under investigation by Southern Metro Region Crime Team – a new taskforce set up to tackle crime including Apex-related offences previously investigated by the dedicated Taskforce Tense.
Investigators said there was no evidence to suggest the offender used a car in the violent cash grab.
Instead, it is thought he arrived and left on foot with up to $200 in stolen cash.
Investigators were on scene at 5am to gather evidence and try locate the armed offender, but his whereabouts is still unknown.
The victim was uninjured in the attack.
Anyone with information about the hold-up is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
