BURGLARS cut the flywire to an Officer home from which they stole a car while valuable jewellery was stolen from a Pakenham home in two of several burglaries investigated within the week.
At 4.10am on Thursday 7 July, a Southern Bell Street, Officer, resident woke to the sound of her car being put into ignition.
She woke up to find the flywire on a window cut open and her handbag stolen.
The keys to her Toyota Corolla Sedan were also pinched from her kitchen bench, enabling the offenders to take off in the vehicle yet to be located by police.
It was during the same 24-hour period police believe burglars carried out a $3500 haul from a nearby Officer home.
Golf clubs, a drop saw and power tools were pinched from a Park Central Avenue, Officer, home between 5.30pm on Wednesday 6 July and 3pm on Thursday 7 July.
Police believe offenders got into the home via a partially opened garage door.
Hours earlier, police responded to a report of $2500 worth of jewellery stolen from a Cohens Way, Pakenham, home.
Offenders smashed glass to the back door of the home before fleeing with the stolen jewellery in tow.
A nearby Pakenham home was raided around the same time in similar fashion, but nothing was reported stolen.
Police received reports a Blackwood Drive, Pakenham, home was broken into between 8.30am and 1pm on Wednesday 6 July.
The glass sliding doors to the home were found smashed in and the main bedroom’s bedside table and drawers were ruffled through, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
All incidents are under investigation by police.
