A SHIPPING container was prised open in a mass industrial burglary in Lang Lang.
Police are yet to finalise the total value of goods taken in the haul, but confirm at least some of the power tools have been recovered after being dumped on the road close to the targeted Westernport Road site.
Suggestions currently have it that $10,000 worth of tools were pinched, and offenders may have dumped the mass load of goods on the side of the road to return for a second pick-up.
Police said offender/s cut the lock to a shipping container at the industrial site between 4pm on Monday 11 July and 7am on Tuesday 12 July.
A large quantity of tools was stolen, with some found dumped close to the premises.
Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit (CIU) Detective Sergeant Phil Jury said the offender/s intentions were unknown.
“They may have had the intention to come back or couldn’t have fit them all in their car,” he said.
Police have expressed concerns over a residential burglary in Pakenham where a weapon was reported stolen.
