Fund-raiser had some sizzle

Head of Year 9 Graham Broderick made sure all the sauce-lovers had their fill.

YEAR 9 students at Beaconhills College’s Pakenham campus have been working on a community service project as part of their Common Good series, which forms a portion of their overall Year 9 program.
Within this program, each school house chose either a charity or organisation to support, raise money for or to make people further aware of an issue.
Leaver House chose to support the MND or Motor Neuron Disease Australia as we found out there was no known cure and as a house, we chose to support the research into this disease.
We asked if we could raise money by running a sausage sizzle and we raised over $500 profit.
Along with raising the money, we learnt how to advertise, costing, communication and selling as well as food hygiene and handling.
It was a very busy lunchtime and a great success and we are very proud to be supporting MND Australia with the proceeds.
