A MUM at home with her kids managed to scare off a home invasion attempt in a frightening pre-dawn incident in Pakenham.
The mum was getting ready for work when she discovered a burglar was trying to get into her Adrian Drive home in Pakenham about 6.35am on Wednesday 17 August.
Police said the offender attempted to get in through the family’s front door, but fled when the woman yelled at the offender, telling them she had called police.
The woman, whose kids are aged 10 to15 years, reported hearing a car speed off.
Police are urging anyone who may have experienced a similar incident around the same time or witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
