A BEACONSFIELD-BASED day care business has received a quality rating exceeding the national standard.
Kids in Family Day Care (KIFC) has operated since 2010 and provides day care for about 270 children in the setting of the home of a professional family day care educator.
Following its Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority assessment, the small business is now eligible to apply for the ‘excellent’ and highest possible quality rating.
Its service exceeded the national standard in all quality areas including educational program and practice, children’s health and safety, physical environment, staffing arrangements, relationships with children, collaborative partnerships with families and communities, and leadership and service management.
KIFC manager Rachel Uaisele said the result recognised the service’s “passion and dedication“ to providing “excellent“ learning and development outcomes for young children.
“We are really excited to have achieved this incredible result. We are very focused on quality in everything that we do,” she said.
“Our family day care service provides local families with high quality child care and education in a secure and nurturing home environment.
“There is an increasing demand for family day care and this exceptional rating shows what a valuable service our wonderful educators provide.”
KIFC works to a one educator to four children ratio, allowing for more one-on-one time.
It also focuses on upskilling its educators with bi-montly training sessions.
Business owner Inoka Nakandala said KIFC prided itself on its relationships with families and the wider community.
“We really get to know these families to match them with an educator and we give our educators as much information as possible about the family to maximise the quality of our service,“ Ms Nakandala said.
“We are transparent about our goals moving forward and constantly getting feedback from families to make sure we’re on the same page.”
