BUNYIP’S St Thomas Church Hall will be filled with beautiful floral arrangements for its 114th annual flower show and market.
St Thomas’s Pam Schembri said that previous events had attracted more than 200 flower entries – both single stem and floral arrangements.
“Last year Bunyip Hall was full,” she said.
“Roses are probably one of the most popular entries but we accept everything. it just depends on what people have growing in their gardens.”
There will be market stalls, plant sales, children’s arts and craft activities and a jumping castle, with a lucky door prize being drawn at 2.30pm as well as the main raffle.
Devonshire tea and sausage sizzle will also be available.
Flower entries will be divided into three main classes: cut flowers, shrubs and floral arrangements, as well as a few special categories for primary school students.
Drouin Nursery’s Peter Collier will open the flower show event at 9.30am that will run until 3pm on Saturday 22 October at St Thomas Church Hall, Bunyip.
Adult entry is $5 and children may enter free of charge.
Entrants have been asked to bring their flowers to the church hall on Friday 21 October between 9am and 1pm, at a cost of 30 cents per entry, to be reviewed by professional judges.
