Brazen attack on police station

By Aneeka Simonis

POLICE are searching for a male offender who kicked in a glass door at Bunyip police station.
The brazen attack took place during broad daylight while the station was unmanned.
Police said the unknown offender was thought to have kicked in the station door, shattering the glass between 10am and 2.30pm on Monday 3 October.
No intrusion was detected.
Police have very little description of the offender, and do not know if he got away on foot or by car.
Officers were on patrol at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
It’s the first report of property damage recorded at the police station for some time – a stark contrast to the nearby Pakenham police station which has been attacked at least three times this year.
Most recently, the station was firebombed for a second time in late August.
Weeks earlier, offenders attempted to infiltrate the station’s restricted safety zone.
Police are yet to charge anyone with the security breaches.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
