A 52-YEAR-OLD man cut a hole in the front of his track-pants and exposed himself as he walked along Tasman Way, Pakenham, in August, a court has heard.
During his 15-minute plus sojourn, the man, who was not wearing underpants, was also seen masturbating through a hole in a fence.
A truck driver approached the man and asked him what he was doing, Dandenong Magistrates’ Court was told on 29 November.
The man replied that he was masturbating.
When interviewed by police, the man – in the company of his father – told police he was “trying to turn on the guys at the front”.
Police had noted that the man appeared to be mentally unwell at the time, a defence lawyer told the court.
The accused – who had ongoing schizophrenic episodes – however was co-operative with police, made full admissions at the time and had little criminal history.
The accused was on medication, and was in therapy with a psychiatrist and Casey mental health services, the lawyer said.
The man was put on a good-behaviour bond and ordered to donate $200 to the court’s charitable fund.
