A STOLEN car was destroyed by fire, ram-raiders attempted to break into a petrol station and a number of residents were subjected to callous thefts during a wild 24 hours of crime in Pakenham.
And Officer also got its share of criminal offending on Saturday 26 November, with another petrol station targeted in a fuel drive-off.
A Holden Cruze was stolen from a Tipperary Circuit, Pakenham home sometime after 7pm on Saturday 26 November.
Police working to track down the $11,000 car found it burnt out and destroyed on Patullos Road near Factory Road in Yannathan at 12.35am the next morning.
A car attempted to ram-raid the BP petrol station in Pakenham at about 1.20am on Saturday night, but only managed to damage a bollard outside of the glass front entrance.
Earlier in the day, the BP petrol station in Officer was also targeted.
Police said two males were observed in a dark blue Nissan Skyline fitted with false registration plates moments before the car took off without paying for fuel at about 4.10pm that afternoon.
The number plates were reportedly stolen from a blue Mazda parked in a nearby residential area between 8pm on Thursday 24 November and 8am on Friday 25 November.
An iPad and laptop were also reported as stolen from a trailer parked out the front of a Pakenham home during the day.
Between 1pm and 2pm the electronics, valued at about $850 were stolen from the male victim’s trailer parked out the front of Tuscany Rise, Pakenham home.
A truckie’s wallet was also stolen from inside his car parked at Ahern Road, Pakenham.
Police said the theft occurred between 8am and 3pm, and there were reports the victim’s credit card was used in a fraudulent transaction.
A blue Ford Falcon was also targeted by thieves who made off with personal items including the victim’s e-tag and handbag.
The car was parked out the front of a Beech Street, Pakenham home when it was targeted between 11.30pm on Saturday and 9am the next morning.
A number of items taken from the victim’s handbag were recovered at the United service station located near Windermere Boulevard.
