A NOSTALGIC feeling was felt as St John of God Hospital Auxiliary held their last annual luncheon at Clover Cottage on Wednesday 30 November.
Clover Cottage owners Trevor Burr and the Chipperfield family have run the restaurant since 1976 but feel it was time to move on.
President of the auxiliary welcomed guests and thanked everyone for their support of the hospital.
Director of Mission Rhonda O’Connor started the luncheon with a prayer of thanks.
Chief executive officer Lisa Norman spoke about the new hospital in Kangan Drive.
She said the current services provided by the Gibbs Street hospital including operating theatres, maternity, surgical and medical wards will be relocated to the new hospital when opened in 2017.
The raffle on the day raised $1100.
Ms Norman thanked the auxiliary for a donation of $2950 for a Hi-Lo bed for the heart centre.
On a sad note, the auxiliary recognised the death of Cyril Molyneux on 26 October.
He was a good friend of the auxiliary and a great supporter of the hospital. Cyril is sadly missed.
At the end of the luncheon, Ms Norman presented the owners of Clover Cottage with certificates of appreciation and hospitality over the years. She also presented the chef John with a chopping board.
The day finished with Nola leading the guests with the singing of the Auld Lang Syne.
