Town opens up for Christmas

A bit if boot scooting action in the streets at last year's Garfield Christmas Festival.

THE Garfield community is set to celebrate Christmas on Friday 16 December and invites everyone to join in the fun.
The annual Garfield Christmas Festival starts at 4pm and runs until 8pm.
Visitors will be able to wander the street market stalls, check out the shops with late night trading and enjoy the food stalls and community group barbecues.
It’s a good chance to meet the local community groups and sporting clubs.
There is a lot of fun for all the kids with face painting, henna, a football handball competition and the chance to paint their own Christmas decorations.
There will also be a jumping castle and inflatable slide.
Santa is visiting at 7pm and visitors are encouraged to purchase a ticket in the Christmas raffle which will offer great prizes.
Patrons can also wander through a classic cars and vintage truck display and the historic Garfield Picture Theatre which will be open for the festival.
