Cardinia Scouts were recognised for their achievements at the Australian Scout Medallion Awards.
The presentation of an Australian Scout Medallion marks the pinnacle in the Scout section (equal to Joey Scout Promise Challenge, Grey Wolf in Cubs, Queen Scout in Venturers and BP Award in Rovers.)
Six Scouts from the Cardinia District received their awards in Sydenham among 150 young people from across the state.
Hayden Blank and Grace Thompson-Hood (1st Upper Beaconsfield), Emily Bloxidge (1st Kooweerup), Rhys Douglas (1st Beaconsfield), Jennifer James (1st Pakenham) and Teagan Taylor (1st Devon Meadows) who is now a Venturer with Cannibal Creek Venturers obtained their awards after working hard to complete their green cord, taking part in a leadership course and demonstrating active leadership in activities.
Emily Bloxidge was also named Cardinia Shire Young Citizen of the Year to top off a stellar year.
