The Monash Freeway ground to a standstill near the Jacksons Road interchange on Friday afternoon, when all outbound lanes were closed due to a smash and a car fire.
It is believed a car and a motorbike were involved in the crash, resulting in a fire just before 4pm on Friday 17 February.
The two outbound lanes were closed for about 40 minutes, causing chaos for the Friday evening peak traffic.
It is believed the motorcyclist collided with the car, slid across the road, and hit another vehicle.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed the motorcyclist, a man in his thirties, was taken to The Alfred by road ambulance in a stable condition with no obvious injuries.
A second person was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition, with no obvious injuries.
The driver of the car was did not require medical treatment at the scene of the accident.
Traffic remained heavy on the freeway and VicRoads advised people travelling through the area to allow extra time for their journey or seek an alternative route.
