They’ve been there from the beginning and now they’ve been formally recognised for their 10 years of service.
At the Berwick Red Cross shop’s 10th birthday bash on Monday, Leanne Kleverlaan, Corry Van Diemen, Joan Sullivan, Pauline Sinfield, Susan Lawrie and June Whittingham received their long-service medals for a decade of volunteering.
Retail Area manager Chris Drossos said the shop’s success was a testament to the volunteers’ hard work and the support from the local community.
The shop primarily relies on donations from the public and each item is sorted, priced and sold by a group of dedicated volunteers.
“The volunteers are incredibly hard-working but more importantly they’re a cheerful group who absolutely love their store and aim to give all customers a fantastic shopping experience,” Mr Drossos said.
The shop is continuing its birthday celebrations all week, with 25 per cent off storewide.
