David Hobson to perform

Australian tenor and composer David Hobson is a frequent visitor to Pakenham.
The singer and stage performer returns once again on 12 May for a one-show-only performance at the Cardinia Cultural Centre.
With a repertoire that spans the gamut of musical styles from opera through to pop, there’s a David Hobson tune for everyone.
David said he planned to deliver a more varied range of songs than previous performances, along with taking audience requests.
The Carols by Candlelight regular takes each performance as he comes, but said intimate gigs such as those at Cardinia Cultural Centre kept things fresh.
The predictability of live concerts, also appealed to audiences, he said.
“You start with a plan, then sometimes that plan goes array because the audience tells you to go another way, and that’s a good thing because I’ve got a long set of repertoires,” David said.
“That’s great fun, yes it can be challenging sometimes, but for audiences no two concerts are the same.”
He hopes the audience to his Pakenham performance will be “pleasantly surprised”.
“If people have seen me either in the opera or on the tele hopefully they won’t be disappointed,” David said.
“If you don’t like opera, I’ll be doing other repertories … the bottom line is I love what I do so you’ll get a lot of passion.”
David’s performance at the Cardinia Cultural Centre will be held on 12 May at 7.30pm.
Tickets are $49 per person; $45 for concession holders or $42.50 per person for a group booking of six or more.
