Gembrook MP Brad Battin was rushed to hospital as a “precautionary measure” after experiencing possible cardiac-related health symptoms during a party room meeting on Tuesday morning.
Opposition Leader Matthew Guy said due to the nature of the symptoms, a decision was made to call an ambulance.
Mr Battin was promptly transferred to hospital for assessment.
“Mr Battin is currently being assessed in hospital and our thoughts and best wishes are with him at this time,“ Mr Guy said.
“We hope to see him back at work very soon.“
Mr Battin took to Twitter about 12.30pm that afternoon to thank supporters for their well-wishes.
“All good. Little discomfort this morning in chest (and) bad family history with Dad having open heart (surgery) at 40. So far so good,“ Mr Battin’s tweet read.
