Man trapped in truck smash

A man in his 50s has been trapped in his truck cabin for 90 minutes then airlifted to hospital after a two-truck collision on the Pakenham Bypass at Beaconsfield on 8 June.
Paramedics treated the trapped man who suffered neck and leg injuries in the crash just before 5am.
Both inbound freeway lanes were closed at Cardinia Road up until about 7.45am when an air ambulance conveyed the man in a stable condition to The Alfred hospital.
As of 8.45am, VicRoads was advising of “very heavy” traffic delays approaching the crash scene just east of Beaconsfield-Nar Nar Goon Road.
City-bound motorists were advised to take the Princes Highway then to rejoin the freeway lanes at Beaconsfield-Nar Nar Goon Road.
