The family of Berwick identity and long-time Casey councillor Mick Morland has asked that donations be made to the Casey Cardinia Foundation in lieu of flowers.
Mr Morland, a former Casey mayor, died after being struck by a car on the Princes Highway in Berwick on Saturday night.
Floral tributes have since been flooding in to the Morland family home.
Kay Morland contacted Casey Cardinia Foundation executive officer Therese Howell on Monday night and asked if the foundation would accept donations from mourners in lieu of flowers.
“Kay expressed that she felt it appropriate for any donations to benefit the community that Mick loved so dearly, through the Casey Cardinia Foundation,” Ms Howell said.
