Gazette editor Garry Howe is leaving… just for one day!
A day behind the editor’s desk was knocked down as an auction item at the Casey Cardinia Foundation’s Annual Charity Dinner last Friday, 13 October.
After a bit of spirited bidding, it was bought by Matt Ketteringham and Dan O’Loughlin of Barry Plant Pakenham and Drouin – they’re the blokes whose photos appear on the side of buses, under the tagline: “The Good Guys in Real Estate”.
Well, they were good enough to part with a pretty penny or two for the privilege of editing the Gazette for a day, which gives them the right to attend a daily editorial conference, influence the news of the day in print and online and send a reporter and photographer to their business for an article.
The business partners say they will toss a coin to see which one takes on the job.
