The CFA was called to “smouldering” solar panels at a Kara Court residence in Pakenham, about 1.20pm on Friday 3 November.
Emergency services were notified when a neighbour noticed smoke coming out of the roof.
“I came out to the car and saw the flames”, neighbour Dean Jones said.
The owners were not home at the time.
After assessing the damage on the roof and isolating the power, the CFA team announced that the scene was safe.
“There’s nothing more the CFA can do here”, CFA member Tim Lennox said.
The resident owners were asked to monitor the situation and notify CFA of any changes.
