Oaks Day at Evergreen was a classy affair with wine tasting, singing, dancing and a small side of betting.
Local entertainer Little Lee provided the music while Unwine Berwick provided an array of wines to taste, “in moderation, of course”, Evergreen’s Sharyn Allsopp said.
The day included door prizes, raffles, afternoon tea and, of course, a sweep.
“We are having a lovely day,” village resident Fran Herron said.
“It’s nice to be able to gather and spend the day together.”
The event saw more than 40 ladies in attendance with an array of colours, fascinators and floral prints to be seen around the room.
