New heights for Probus

Pakenham East Probus Club members were impressed by the state-of-the-art gondola at Arthur''s Seat.

The Pakenham East Probus Club reached dizzying new heights as they jumped aboard the state-of-the-art gondola at the Arthur’s Seat Eagle on Friday 23 February.
“Despite the dull day, it was still a spectacular ride with magnificent news,” member Marlene Knaap said.
“Remembering the rather hair raising ride of the early days when an open-air, tiny two-seated gondola creaked, bumped and swayed its way to the top, with only a metal bar to stop you from falling, these all-weather gondolas are so smooth, quiet and safe.
“True to its name, eagles soared above us on our journey.”
The day finished with a visit to Austplant nursery nearby, where members could pore over 600-odd species of native plants and a range of weird and wonderful sculptures.
“Year 2018 has started with a great outing, thanks to our organiser Laurie Hudgson,” Ms Knaap added.
The Pakenham East Probus Club are welcoming new members for the new year ahead.
