Purple and yellow should perhaps become the regular uniform of Red Gem Growers and Packers.
The Nar Nar Goon potato company this year continues its decade-long support of Casey Relay for Life with its own team, Red Gem’s.
“Red Gem owners and staff have been involved with Casey Relay For Life for over 10 years, raising much needed money to help with research into finding a cure for a cancer,” general manager Robert Cerchiaro said.
“This year we decided to start up our own team to continue fundraising, and introduce many friends, family and associates to this very worthy cause.”
The team of more than 70 members has already exceeded its $5000 fund-raising target, but doesn’t want to stop there.
“Every dollar we raise will go towards research into ‘forgotten cancers’,” Mr Cerchiaro said.
The general manager described the annual relay as one that was “moving and emotional” but full of celebration and comradery.
“We thank all our team participants. @e hope you know how much your contributions will mean to us and the incredible difference you will have to thousands of Victorian lives,” Mr Cerchiaro said.
