A MAN has been charged by police after allegedly sexually assaulting a victim with “cognitive or mental” impairment in a Pakenham office.

Dandenong Sexual Offence and Child Abuse detectives on Wednesday arrested a 40-year-old Mulgrave man after a year of investigations.

Police believe two incidents occurred on 26 April at a business on Treloar Lane.

Officers were tight-lipped about the nature of the assault, but the street houses several offices, including a dance studio, beauty salon and Centrelink.

When appealing for information back in January, it was revealed that two girls had allegedly been preyed upon by the offender.

The 40-year-old has been charged with five offences and will appear before Dandenong Magistrates Court on 15 June.
