Cindy Resenberger is calling on all Pakenham Secondary College alumni from the class of 1984 to join her for a school reunion.
The former student has set up a Facebook page in the hopes of tracking down her past peers, but said the task has proved harder than she anticipated.
“The page has about 60 members, but there’s still another 100 people or so to find. It’s so much bigger than what I anticipated,” Ms Resenberger said.
Ms Resenberger, who went by the name Ryberg during her schooling years before she was married, said her 50th birthday ignited a deep nostalgia.
“A couple of friends and I still stay in touch, and we realised we had missed the high school reunion a couple of years back.
“I think when I turned 50 I really began to reflect my friendships back in high school, and made me wonder where they all were and what they were doing.
“You get so busy in your own life that you lost that connection with your past; when you get to our age it’s good to have some history.”
She said she hoped the reunion would enable people to reconnect and renew friendships.
The event will be held on Saturday 17 November at the Pakenham Hotel, 153 Main Street Pakenham at 6pm.
