Three masked men smashed their way into a Gembrook service station, stealing a large quantity of cigarettes, cash and goods while a terrified worker hid himself away.

The raid took place at Metro Petroleum in Gembrook on Wednesday 17 October while the unsuspecting employee slept in a back room.

Police have been told the worker woke to the sound of smashing glass and men’s voices just before 4am.

After spotting the offenders, the worker then locked the door and called triple zero.

The trio made off with stolen energy drinks, phone charging cables, a laptop and a large quantity of cash and cigarettes.

All three offenders were male, and described as wearing hoodies and gloves with their faces covered at the time of the incident.
