Labertouche grass fire

A grass fire in Labertouche is now under control, a CFA confirmed.

The blaze, which broke out at 10.40am on Thursday 28 February, was declared under control at at 11.38am.

Up to 12 CFA utilities attended the fire, and ten remain on scene.

Local brigades, including Gembrook, Nar Nar Goon, Tynong, Drouin, Longwarry and Dewhurst, responded.

A CFA spokesperson said the fire is “small in size” and are yet to determine the cause of the blaze.

Police are also on scene.

It comes after the Chief Health Officer’s Heat Health Alert in the district for Thursday 28 and Friday 1 March.
