Students robbed at knife-point

Two St. Francis Xavier College students have been left shaken after they were robbed at knife-point in Beaconsfield on their way home from school.

The pair were walking along Woods Street, Beaconsfield when they were approached by three African youths in balaclavas at around 3.45pm on Tuesday 26 March.They confronted the victims and demanded their phones and for the victims to log out of iCloud. One offender then produced a knife and told one of the victims he had 15 seconds to comply with their order.

The trio made away with one of the victims phones and $20 cash from the other victim’s wallet.

They are described as of African appearance, around 16 to 18 years old.

One was wearing an orange balaclava, while the other two wore black balaclavas.

One was shirtless and two wore singlets.

The cash and the iPhone XR have not yet been recovered by police and the incident is still under investigation.

Police warn residents to be wary when walking near the Woods Street area as it has been a hotspot for crime.

The 17-year-old victims have been traumatised by the experience, police say.
