Drivers heading north on Pakenham Road on Tuesday 30 April were met with a surprise when members of the Cardinia Highway Patrol set up a road block.

Officers carried out 400 preliminary breath tests and 50 drug tests on drivers over four hours. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology was also in use to detect defective, unregistered or unroadworthy vehicles.

No drug or drink drivers were detected on the day, however officers did pick up 1 disqualified and 1 suspended driver through ANPR.
