Plane crashes at Tooradin

Three people were shaken but not seriously hurt after the light aircraft they were in crashed on landing, running into a drainage ditch at the Tooradin airfield.

Emergency services were called to the incident Friday 3 May, about 1.40pm.

The aircraft came to rest well to the left of the runway, according to pictures from the scene.

Photos also showed the plane was extensively damaged.

The female pilot and a male and female passenger are believed to have freed themselves from the wreckage.

Ambulance Victoria reported that no-one had been seriously injured.

The area was declared safe shortly after 2pm.

Kooweerup and Tooradin CFA units and several police vehicles also attended.
