Planting hope for an endangered plant

The endangered Emerald Star Bush.

The Emerald Quarry Reserve is set to get a new makeover with around 700 indigenous native plants to be planted in a community project.

Volunteers are invited to attend the 6.4 hectare Bob James Emerald Quarry Conservation Reserve on Sunday 19 May between 1pm to 3pm to take part in the community tree planting session with an afternoon tea to follow.

Those in attendance will remove weeds and plant native plants including the endangered and native Emerald Star Bush.

By replacing weeds with native flora, the habitat of native animals like the sugar glider possums will improve.

Places are limited due to site access and onsite parking.
