Beaconsfield-Emerald Road was closed and traffic was diverted following a serious head-on collision.
Paramedics were called to the crash about 6.40am on Wednesday 19 June.
The driver of one ute had to be extricated by use of hydraulic tools.A man in his 20s was flown by air ambulance to The Alfred hospital.
The man is in a serious condition with pelvis, hip, knee and leg injuries.
